Information: SNOW IN THE UK

There has been widespread travel disruption as a result of the snow accross the country. The following notes explain the cover that applies under the insurance policies offered on our site.

Travel Delay

This section provides cover if your own flight, train or ship is directly affected by the weather resulting in a delay notified after arrival at the departure point from the UK.

The delay must exceed 12 hours before any entitlement is available. If the delay exceeds 24 hours, you are entitled to abandon the trip and seek recovery under the insurance.

You are not covered if your travel arrangements have been cancelled by the carrier, as the carrier will reimburse you.


Missed Departure

This section provides cover if you have left your home using public transport to travel to the point of departure from the UK and arrive too late to catch the flight, train or ship and as a result miss your departure from the UK.

You are covered to arrange alternative means to enable you to reach your destination.

PLEASE NOTE THAT NO COVER APPLIES IF YOU ARRANGE INSURANCE AFTER THE DATE ON WHICH THE CONDITIONS ARISE.
