As long as your existing travel insurance policy will cover you, you ca obtain this cover. The policy only pays after a valid claim has been made on your main travel insurance policy so it doesn’t matter where you travel, how long you travel for or if you have medical conditions.
This insurance acts as a "top up" to your main travel insurance policy. It will only operate when the underlying limit under the cancellation or curtailment section of your main travel insurance policy is exceeded, following a claim payment.
You can top up your main travel insurance policy by up to £50,000 per person (up to £15,000 per person if aged 75-79 and £10,000 if aged 80-85), provided each person is on the same booking. The overall limit per policy is £100,000.

The policy is available to those permanently resident in the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands and the Isle of Man) and present in the United Kingdom at the time of purchasing.
Top Up My Cover Cancellation only pays after a valid claim has been made on your main travel insurance policy so we will not ask you about any pre-existing medical conditions. However, you should always make sure that you have made a full declaration to the insurers of your main travel insurance policy to ensure that you are covered with them.
We will refund in full your premium, if, within 14 days of the period of insurance starting or receiving the top-up policy, whichever is later, you decide that it does not meet your needs, providing that you have not commenced your trip, reported or are intending to report a claim.
